We were very excited as
we set off for the walk, the torrential downpour had just about abated as we
set off. The start of the walk
was very long and windy along some very rocky pathways until we reached the
sands which proved to be as equally difficult to walk on as they were very
“quick” no lingering here. It
was a difficult walk as we experienced strong winds and finally as we got to
the Kent Channel to cross, the rain was coming at us horizontal. The
excellent guides led us into the channel which was no mean fete as it came
up to our waists (we thought it would just be a paddle) it was very tiring
walking through the water and we had to move very quickly because of the
moving sands.
It
was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to do
something a bit different. Would I do it again? Perhaps not, or maybe I could
be persuaded on a warm sunny day.
