Red Eye

Red eyes can be mild to severe, different conditions do have similar symptoms.

Persistent symptoms should always be seen by an ophthalmic specialist.

Conjunctivitis

Itchiness, foreign body sensation, discharge, caused by a bacteria, virus or allergy

Uveitis / Iritis

Deep ache in the eye, blurred vision, light sensitive

Sub conjunctival haemorrhage

Sharp stinging sensation can be spontaneous “blood” in the conjunctiva

Episcleritis

Recurrent red eye may have a dull aching sensation
