I can remember always tripping up and being accused of being clumsy when I was very young and being extremely short sighted (-9). The spectacles 50 years ago had lenses so thick and round they were like bottom of milk bottles and I was tormented and teased by my peer group relentlessly.

Truly amazing - my replacement lenses allow me to see the world a brighter place, especially as I cannot remember ever being able to see "properly" until now!

After wearing glasses from the young age of 3 and contact lenses and over the last 12 years where I spent a lot of time looking for lost lenses, I enquired about laser treatment but was told my prescription was too high (+8.00).

I then read an article on the new multifocal lenses and that they would be suitable for someone with my prescription. I underwent PRELEX surgery with HumanOptic implants and I would like to thank Drayton House Clinic and all their dedicated staff for making a miracle happen to me. It still feels weird last thing at night going to bed and not taking off my glasses or taking lenses out and cleaning them I get into bed saying I can see I can see.

I can now run and not take the wrong course when I am in a race and I can see the spectators who have turned out to cheer me on, normally I recognise them by voice.
