Lasek |

Lasek (Laser epithelial keratomileusis) is a relatively new procedure. It is used mostly on people who have corneas that are too thin or too flat for Lasik.
Local anaesthetic drops are used to numb the eye. In Lasek the outer layer of the cornea (the epithelium) is softened with a special alcohol solution and folded to one side.
The laser is then applied to the cornea beneath. The epithelium is replaced, often with a temporary contact lens to protect it for a few days.
Your vision can take a few days to recover after this procedure.
