Squint Treatment - Surgery
Squint surgery is usually performed to improve the appearance of the eye alignment, but sometimes it can help the child use both eyes together. This surgery involves the strengthening or weakening of one or more of the eye muscles that move the eye. These muscles are easily reached and will not affect the focussing parts of the eye, so there is no significant risk of your child's sight being damaged by the operation.
Drayton House Clinic undertakes squint surgery at a local private hospital that has child facilities and qualified paediatric staff. Squint surgery is performed under a general anaesthetic and normally as a day case.
